# Free AI CV checker and resume scanner Check your CV or resume against the job before you apply. Screening software reads it before a recruiter does, so it has to work for both. Upload it and paste the job description. We check that the software can read it, which of the job's skills it names, what requirements are missing and which bullets to fix. It checks right to work, licences and languages for applications in Malta, the EU and the UK. Paid CV scanners charge around $50 a month for the same checks, and this one is free. ## How screening works Recruiters rarely set software to reject CVs on keywords alone. Knockout questions do most of the filtering, such as the right to work or a required licence, and so does volume. A recruiter with hundreds of applications searches and skims, so two things count. 1. **The file has to be readable.** Text in images, text boxes, headers and tables can come out scrambled or empty. Plain headings and a single column are the safest layout. 2. **The CV uses the advert's words.** When the advert says "payment reconciliations" and your CV says "matched PSP reports", a search misses you.
